Edgar Newton Elliott Jr, 83, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Estella and Edgar Newton Elliott Sr. Edgar was a member of First Baptist Church Rutherfordton and a retired driver for Roadway Trucking. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Winnie Holler Elliott of the home; daughter, Teresa Carroll and husband Lawrence of Greenville, SC; sons, Craig Elliott and wife Sheila of Spartanburg, SC, Chris Elliott of Piedmont, SC and Terrell Elliott of Rutherfordton; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12PM Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Tim Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at 3PM at Graceland East Memorial Park in Greenville, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
