Edmond "Moe" R. Daigle, 80, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, May 10,2021. Moe was born on May 6, 1941 in Dracut, Massachusetts and was the son of Donat and Lydia (Desrosiers) Daigle. He served in the the United States Army and was retired from long haul trucking in 2002. He also worked for Mastercraft and Cone Jacquards. Upon retirement, his daily walks around town became legendary. Moe enjoyed telling stories to the uproarious laughter of family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Donat "Joe" Daigle of Dracut, Ma., Richard Daigle of Dracut, Ma., Gerald "Gerry" Daigle of Pelham, N.H., Ronald, "Ronnie" Daigle of Spindale, N.C., Ernest "Ness" Daigle of Rutherfordton, N.C., and sister Lorraine Daigle Poirier of Lowell, Ma. and brother in law Richard "Rick" Geoffroy of Dracut, Ma. Survivors include his wife, Claire Geoffroy Daigle of the home, daughters, Michelle Daigle of Rutherfordton, N.C., Maria "Chasity" Daigle Ross, and sons Marc Daigle and wife Mary of Inverness, Fla., Michael Daigle and wife Araceli of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Matthew Daigle and wife Dr. Seema Daigle of Rutherfordton, N.C. and seven grandchildren, Ian Clements, Rebecca Daigle Alrish, Rachel Daigle, Grace Daigle, Hana Daigle, Ibrahim Daigle and Sofia Daigle. Other surviving relatives are a brother, Donald Daigle of Salem, N.H., a sister, Camille and husband Don Eno of Lakeland, Fla., sister in laws Gloria Geoffroy Millette of Spindale, N.C, Bernie Geoffroy of Moosic, Pa., Eileen Daigle of Spindale, N.C., Barbara Daigle of Rutherfordton, N.C., Mary Daigle of Dracut, Ma., Jeanne Daigle of Dracut, Ma. and brother in law Gerard Geoffroy of Jermyn, Pa. and also many nieces and nephews. Moe leaves behind a myriad of friends and loved ones who will never forget his generosity, love of family, and sense of humor. There will be a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Forest City, N.C. on Friday, May 14, 2021. Immediately following will be receiving of family and friends in the narthex. Funeral service will be officiated by Father Herbert Burke at 2:00 PM. and will include Military honors and honor guard. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.
