Elijah Guffey
Elijah Martin Guffey age 84, of Spindale passed away on August 21, 2011 at Hospice House. Elijah served in WWII and later retired from Spindale Mills as a maintenance worker. He was the son of the late Adam and Janie Guffey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Zola Lister Guffey of 44 years, and two sons Michael and Mitchell Guffey, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Crain. Services will be held on Tuesday August 23rd at 11:00AM at Crowe’s Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Ruppe and Rev. Johnny Bridges officiating. Military honors provided by Rutherford County Honor Guard.
