Ellen Petty

Ellen Denise Long Petty, age 60, of Suttles Road went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 while being cared for at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, Ellen was a retired seamstress and a faithful member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Otis Petty; two brothers – Mike Long and his wife Judy, Bart Long; father-in-law J.L. Petty; brother-in-law Barry Petty and wife Cindy; sister-in-law Sherra Harrison and husband Ray; and fur babies – Angel, Presley, and Sophia. Ellen is also survived by numerous friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Doris Edwards Long, one sister Patricia Long Ledford and a nephew Al Ledford. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Karl Kelly and Rev. Dennis Tomlinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Concluding services will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church 2869 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
