Etta Hoyle

Etta Cogdell Hoyle, 91, of Bostic, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Hospice House. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Allen and Rebecca Hoyle Cogdell. She was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Cherry Mountain Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Georgia Bridges and husband Claude of Ellenboro, Lorene Williams and husband Clyde of Cherryville, Helen Ellenburg of Bostic, Ellen Hoyle of Bostic; sons John Hoyle and wife Shirley of Forest City, William Hoyle and wife Brenda of Bostic; sisters Agnes Beam of Forest City, Helen Baker of Morganton; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hezekiah Hoyle, brothers Odell Cogdell, Claude Cogdell and sisters Betty Jo Pope and Georgia Lee Cogdell Chapman. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, March 5 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Billy Cogdell and Rev. Danny Black officiating. Interment will be in Cherry Mountain Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
