Eugene Robert Smith, age 64, of Rutherfordton celebrated his birthday by going home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 12, 2013 – at The Hospice House of Rutherford County. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.He became a resident of Rutherford County 15 years ago. Eugene is survived by his wife, Roseanne of 42 years, three sons, two daughters and grandchildren. A Celebration of Eugene’s life and legacy will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 7pm,at Crowe's Mortuary with Pastor John Orr officiating .
