Evelyn Louise Martin, 87, of Spindale, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Tyra and Carrie Sentell Beddingfield. Evelyn was a retired Baptist minister and a member of Spencer Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Patty Lynn of the home; daughter in law, Linda Harris of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Darla Renee King, Charles Ray Martin, Arthur J. Lynn IV, and Geoffrey Martin Lynn; three great grandchildren, Emma, Noah, and Addison King; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Martin, son Darryl Ray Martin, five sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, June 20, 2014 at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Caldwell, Rev. Rita Justice, Ed Alexander and Cindy LaFon officiating. Burial will follow in Spindale City cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center of the church.
