Floyd Radford

Mr. Floyd L. Radford age 90 of Kelly Road passed away Friday November 11, 2016 while being cared for at Hospice House in Forest City. A native of Rutherford County, Floyd was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church and worked in textiles prior to retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War Two in the Rhineland and Central Europe. Upon the end of the war he was attached to the 1st Division where he served as a courtroom guard during the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials. He is survived by one son Michael Radford and wife Pamela of Cartersville, GA; one granddaughter Chloe Radford of Macon, GA and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Eugenia Sparks Radford and his parents Pink and Lexie Burgess Radford. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday November 13, 2016 at Caroleen Baptist Church 205 Spencer Street, Caroleen NC 28019 with Rev. Steven Cooper and Rev. Allen Hall officiating. Mr. Radford will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral and the family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caroleen Baptist Church 205 Spencer Street, Caroleen NC 28019 or Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043.
