Frances Fowler Mitchum, age 84, formerly of Spindale, passed away Tuesday at Cardinal Care in Hendersonville. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Mitchum, parents John Walter Fowler and Tennessee Greene Fowler and 10 brothers and sisters. Frances was an active member of Spindale United Methodist Church, a member of Woodmen of the World, volunteer for Yokefellow and Hospice, and Mount Vernon Ruritan Club and Mount Vernon Home Extension Club. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Pyatt officiating. Memorials may be made to Spindale UMC or Hospice of Rutherford County.
