Gladys Doggett

Mrs. Gladys Justice Doggett of the Gilkey Community passed away on Sunday August 2, 2009 at her home following a period of declining health. Gladys was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Martha Blankenship Justice and the widow of William Walton Doggett. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. and Clarence Justice, and one sister Bertha Jacobs. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Doggett of the home, one son John Doggett and his wife Tamara, one grandson William Doggett and one brother Earl Justice all of Gilkey. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends also survive. Gladys was a charter member of Gilkey Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former sales associate with Maxway and Wal-Mart. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday August 5, 2009 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Marshall Dill and Bobby Hedgpath Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. No graveside service will be held but burial will be in the cemetery of Round Hill Baptist Church in Union Mills. Flowers are welcome or donations may be sent to Hospice of Rutherford County POB 336 Forest City NC 28043.
