Hattie Matilda Smith Parker, age71, of 142 Long St Rutherfordton died Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hospice House. She was a native of Rutherford County, a member of The Bible Tabernacle and a retired seamstress for Tanner Companies. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Lee Parker and her parents James Pinkney Smith and Bessie Frady Smith, brothers J.C., Aden, Horace and Elijah Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Shirley Ruff and her husband Joe of Polk County, Sheila Burnett and her fiancee Willie Austin of Ruth; granddaughter Angela Dawn Burnett and her boyfriend Dwayne Chapman of Bostic, great grandchildren Tiffany Paige Burnett, Noah Grayson Chapman and Madison Lee Chapman of Bostic; brother James Martin Smith of Gilkey and sister Mary Elizabeth Story of Morganton and her beloved dog Thunder. Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Bible Tabernacle with visitation on Monday from 6-8 PM at Bible Tabernacle. Rev. Joseph Greene will officiate. Burial will follow at Fellowship Holiness Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043
