Hazel Koone

Mrs. Hazel Koone age 90 of Brooks Lake Road passed away Sunday September 18, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Lottice Robert Koone and her parents Mark and Anniebelle Owens Millard. Hazel was born in Polk County on May 31, 1921, was a homemaker, retired textile worker and a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are one son Lonnie Koone and his wife Tamara of Rutherfordton, NC, one grandson Brandon Bivens; two sisters Helen Ferguson of Union Mills and Frances Hensley of Rutherfordton; brother-in-law Donald Koone and sister-in-law Dot Keeter. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday September 21, 2011 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Mills and Rev. Charles McClure officiating. Concluding services will be held in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday September 20, 2011 at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church 710 Mountain Creek Church Road Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or to Rutherford County Hospice POB 336 Forest City, NC 28043. The family will gather at 195 Gilkey School Road Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
