Helen Prather Gilbert Helen Inez Prather Gilbert, 86, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Willow Ridge. A native of Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Fred and Selma Reed Prather. Helen was a retired seamstress and a member of Spindale Church of the Brethren. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, James Gilbert and wife Jean of Rutherfordton; Dean Gilbert and wife Pat of Shiloh; Doug Gilbert and wife Betty of Charlotte; daughter, Janice Cline of Rutherfordton; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister Iris Keisgen of Tampa, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Dupree Gilbert and son, Dennis Gilbert. Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at Spindale Church of the Brethren with Rev. Russell Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary.
