Howard Steven Monteith, age 72, of 3469 Hudlow Rd Rutherfordton passed away Friday at Hospice House. Steve was a native of Rutherford County, retired truck driver for Overnight and a member of Round Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Paul and Ethel Dorie Stewart Monteith, his wife Reba Nell Monteith, a daughter Audrey Monteith and a sister Patricia Caldwell. Left to cherish his memory are his children Donna Monteith of Rutherfordton, Lynn Monteith of Forest City, Dwayne Monteith of Rutherfordton, Randy Monteith of Rutherfordton, Michael Monteith of Spindale, Ricky Monteith of South Dakota, Stephanie Field of Rutherfordton, Cheyenne Monteith of South Carolina, Roxanne Monteith of Forest City and Delight Hoyle of Forest City; sisters Gayle Flack and Kaye Briscoe of Union Mills and a brother Ray Monteith of Forest City; 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 11 AM Monday at Round Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. John Bridges and Rev. Roger Hudgins officiating.
