J.C. Teague, 74, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, June 23 at Hospice House in Forest City. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt “Ted” and Stella Mae Bright Teague. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and a retired supervisor for Shehan’s Textiles, and a veteran, serving in the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Cleo Hill Teague, of the home; Daughters, Sherry Lynn Owens of Union Mills and Katrina Ann Abell of Collegeville, PA; Son, Wendell Ray Teague of Gilkey; Sister, Louise Ford of Spindale; Seven Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Teague. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26 at 11 AM at Second Baptist Church in Rutherfordton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Rutherfordton City cemetery.
