J. Paul Wilson 86, of Lake Lure died on March 30 at the Hospice House. He was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Harold and Elizabeth Elliott Wilson. He was an army veteran serving in WWII. He was a retired residential contractor and had served as mayor of Lake Lure 1957-1981 and was a former board member of Union Trust Company. He had served as interim town manager for Lake Lure at various times. He was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration in Bat Cave. He is survived by his wife Anne M. Wilson of the home, daughter Candice Cummings of Rutherfordton, sister Faye Rayner of Charlotte, brothers Harold and Bill Wilson of Lake Lure, One grandson and two granddaughters.
