Jack Vito Greco Obituary

Jack V. Greco, 73 years young, passed away on Monday, January 11th, 2016. Born in NY, he moved to Rutherfordton, NC in 1977 and never looked back, making it his “home town” - embracing its southern charm where he made lifelong friends from day one. After retiring from his corporate career, he taught classes at 2 local high schools, Chase and RS Central, where he created special relationships with his students and faculty. His favorite pastime was tennis and he was honored to coach both men’s’ and women’s’ tennis teams at RS Central High. He is survived by his loving wife, Maryann, and three adoring sons who loved him more than life itself. He was so proud of Anthony and Chris, who live in Atlanta, and his youngest boy Jonn who lives in Colorado and named his restaurant, Greco’s Pastaria, in honor of his dad. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren, Jacksen (14), Alex (12), Kayla and Ava (both 9), all of whom were the loves of his life. He also has one surviving brother, Joe and sister-in-law Priscilla, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well. He was loved by many and will be missed immensely. Visitation will be Saturday, January 16th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the lobby of Immaculate Conception Church to be followed by Mass at the church at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting his love, hope, and prayers for all children around the world suffering from pediatric cancer.
