James Avery Crowe, 85, of Forest City, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Paul Avery Crowe and Hattie Jane Ingram Crowe. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, retired textile manager, and a member of Long Branch Road Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Juanita Amos Crowe of the home; sons Greg Crowe and wife Laurie of Rutherfordton and Terry Crowe and wife Susan of Bostic; daughter, Sherry Robbins and husband Kenneth of Rutherfordton; brother Mickey Crowe and wife Mary of Lake Wylie,SC; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchilderen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Long Branch Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Ruppe officiating. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Mr. Crowe will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends 6-8PM Monday, January 12, 2015 at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long Branch Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 621 Long Branch Road, Forest City NC 28043
