James Hawkins

Mr. James Ray Hawkins age 65 passed away Saturday January 25, 2014 at Hospice House of Forest City. A native of Rutherford County, James was a graduate of East High School Class Of 1966 and worked in textiles, Broyhill Furniture and a number of local convenience stores. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended Full Gospel Revival Church for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Mary Elizabeth Hames Hawkins of Forest City, sisters – Jean Brandle of Forest City, Barbara Carver and husband John of Forest City, Marilyn Morris and husband Steve of Rutherfordton, Deborah White and husband David of Forest City, special niece Melisa Johnson who was like a daughter to him as well as a number of other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Everett Hawkins and brother in law Dean Brandle. A celebration of life will be held 3 PM Monday January 27, 2014 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hutchins and Rev. Scott Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P. O. Box 366 Forest City, NC 28043 or to Full Gospel Revival Church Hwy 64/74 Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
