Obituary Jerry Cox age 61 died Monday December 1, 2014 at his home. A native of Polk County NC he was the son of the late Nellie Cox Stafford and the late Whimp Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Cox, grandchildren Jordon Cox and Jayce Bailey, brothers Joe Stafford and Wilburn Stafford, sisters Mae Dale and Lillian Stafford. Left to cherish his memory are his son Melvin Cox and wife Dreama, son Jimmy Cox and wife Nellie, daughter Jennifer Lyda (Hank Queen), daughter Lisa Cox (Bobby Bumgarner), grandchildren China Harper (Dillon Gettys), Daniel Cox, Jerry Cox, A.J. Waters, Tracy Waters, Kayla Waters, Alaina Waters, Justin Cox, Dylan Cox, Noah Cox, Madison Lee, Mackenzie Lee, Kailee Holland, Ryan Holland, Mitchell Lyda, Gracie Lyda, Emily Cox, Katherine Cox, Micah Bumgarner, Bobby Bumgarner Jr., great grandchildren Callie Harper, Colton Gettys, and Corbyn Gettys, Kaison Holland, brothers Ray Stafford (Cindy), Marvin Stafford (Jackie), Dave Cox (Violet), and Leroy Cox (Mary). A memorial service will be held at a later date.
