Joan Doughty

Mrs. Joan Dorothea Patton Doughty age 69 of Hendersonville, NC passed away Sunday June 26, 2011 at her home. Born in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late U.V. and Louise Rumfelt Patton. Left to cherish her memory are her husband William James Doughty, Sr. of the home; one daughter Christine Braunesreither and husband Robert of Asheville, NC; four sons – William Doughty, Jr. and wife Miriam of Fairview, NC, Kevin Doughty of Asheville, NC, Matthew Doughty of Leicester, NC, Steven Doughty and wife Angela of Duncan, SC; two brothers – Frank Patton and wife Kathy of Swarthmore, PA, James N. Patton of Asheville, NC; three sisters – Audrey Patton Brown and husband Arnold of Rutherfordton, NC, Frances Patton McAnally of Union Mills, NC, Gail Patton Dugger and husband Charles of Marion, NC; six grandchildren – Autumn Braunesreither of Asheville, NC, Jax Doughty of Leicester, NC, Will Doughty of Fairview, NC Steven Doughty, Jr. of Duncan, SC, Kayla Doughty of Fairview, NC, Duncan Doughty of Duncan, SC; special friend Michelle Nelson of Asheville, NC. She was also predeceased by her sister Vera Patton Stevenson. A service honoring her life will be held Friday July 1, 2011 at noon in Montford Cove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Concluding services will be conducted in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Montford Cove Missionary Baptist Church 4920 Cove Road Union Mills NC 28167.
