Joan Guffey Walker age 86 of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on June 18th at Henderson Care. Joan was the wife of the late ML Walker and the daughter of the late Clyde Norman Guffey and Anna Belle Ruff Guffey. Left to cherish her memory are her children; son Eddie Lee Walker and wife Elizabeth of Rutherfordton; daughters Cindy Buff and husband Jim of Harris; Cathy Liverette and husband Roger of Cliffside, NC; brothers Calvin, Roger, and Jim; sister Mary Lois Geer; four grandchildren Jennifer Walker Bradley, Carol Ann Walker, John Bradley Moore and Amber Johnson; 10 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday June 22nd at 11:00AM at Second Baptist Church, 191 Green St Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Mrs. Walker will lie in state from 10:30AM to 11:00AM at the church. Burial will be private. Those who wish to attend the service are asked to practice social distancing and wear a face mask.
