Johnnie Clements

Johnnie Madge Clements, 83, of Spindale passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Hospice of Rutherford County. He was born in Union County SC to the late O.C. Clements and Mae Mitchem Clements. He was a foreman in the textile industry. A loving and devoted family man, Mr. Clements was an accomplished gardener. A generous man, he enjoyed sharing his plants, especially his flowers, with those who visited him. Visitors often departed with plants and the knowledge required to help the plants thrive. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years Betty Ford Clements, daughter Kaye (Grant) White of Waxhaw, NC; granddaughter Holly (Rich) Owen LiVolsi of Monroe, NC; two great grandchildren, Joseph LiVolsi and Dominic LiVolsi; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Clements; sister, Inez Hyder; brothers, Lesley Clements, Jack Clements and Clyde Metcalf. Funeral services will be Friday, May 3 at 1:00PM at Crowe’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Ford and Rev. Vaughan Hyder officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the service. Interment will be in Eternal Hills Cemetery.
