Joseph Beam

Joe Beam age 65 of Lake Lure, NC born and raised in the Mount Vernon Community of Rutherford County passed away suddenly on Saturday May 2, 2015 at his home. He was the son of the late Frank Ray Beam and Hazel Long Beam Dale. He was also preceded in death by his step father J.W. Dale. He is survived by two sons – Joey Beam and wife Samantha and their children Taylor, Brooks, and Kaylee; Stacy Beam and wife Sherrie and their daughter Stella. He is also survived by the mother of his children Rhonda Beam as well as a number of other friends and relatives. Joe was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church and attended Fairfield Mountains Chapel. He was a Mason and Shriner and was an avid fisherman, race fan and enjoyed the Lake Lure area. Joe was also a cancer survivor having beaten lung cancer in 2014. He was the owner of Beam Chevrolet for many years and current owner of Universal Auto Credit. Graveside services will be held 3 PM Friday May 8, 2015 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Crain officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday May 7, 2015 at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospital.
