Kathy Mae Street, 50, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, July 14 at her home. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late J.D Street and Josephine Crain Smith. She was a caregiver and served as a Hospice volunteer. Kathy attended Cherry Mountain Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Dee Baker and husband Al of Morganton and Patsy Burnett and husband Gerald of Lake Lure; two brothers Bobby Street and wife Geraldine of Morganton and David Street and wife Susan of Morganton; special friends Emerald Ward of Cliffside and Madison King of Rutherfordton; two nieces, Misty Street and Katie White; five nephews, Jeremy Morrow, Robbie Tucker, J.D. Street, Jacob Street and Michael Street. In addition to her parents Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter Chrystal Renee Boone and a brother Herman Dean Street. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16 at 2 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton with Rev. Hubert Street, Rev. Danny Black and Rev. Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow in Fork Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
