Mrs. Marie Starnes Yelton age 98 formerly of Spindale, NC went home to be with The Lord on Friday March 18, 2016 while being cared for at Salemtowne of Winston-Salem. Born in Gaston County, Marie was the daughter of the late John William Starnes and the late Annabelle Armstrong Starnes and was the widow of James Wyman “Jim” Yelton. She was a homemaker and a member of Spindale United Methodist Church. Marie is survived by her son William Wyman Yelton and his wife Rebecca of Winston-Salem; her Granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Williard and husband Charles as well as their children Emma Riley Williard, Kathryn Elizabeth Williard and Charles Franklin Williard, Jr.; her Grandson Wyman Scott Yelton and his wife Ashley as well as their children Wyman Tate Yelton, Reagan Marie Yelton, Carson Thomas Borter, Allison Daniel Borter and Macy Lauren Borter. A number of other friends and relatives also survive. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park 1565, Oakland Road, Forest City, NC 28043. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
