Marjorie Montieth

Mrs Marjorie Katherine Gettys Montieth age 81 of Hwy 221 North went home to be with The Lord on Friday February 24, 2017. A Native of Rutherford County she is the eldest daughter of the late Glenn and Katherine Gettys and the widow of Kenneth Ray Montieth. Marjorie is survived by six sons- Michael, Mitchell, Wesley, Marcus, Gary, adopted son Larry and adopted daughter Ruby; one half brother Norris Gettys ,one half sister Donnie. Marjorie was a loving mother and homemaker to all; her family, 43 foster children, and numerous grandchildren. She was a lifelong musician, an organist for 35 years at Green Hill Baptist Church, and also served as organist at Round Hill and Pleasant Grove Baptist Churches. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church in Bostic, NC with funeral services beginning at 2 pm. Rev Monty Montieth and Rev. Chad Sisk will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 3:45 PM at Green Hill Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, NC
