Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Stroud Davis age 97 went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2011. Born in Rutherford County June 29, 1914 she was the daughter of Collis and Mary Willie Wilkins Stroud. She was a member of Gold Hill Baptist Church and widow of Darius Davis. Left to cherish her memory is one brother Louis Stroud of Washington, DC; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday November 13, 2011 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with burial following in New Salem C.M.E. Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Sunday November 13, 2011 at Crowe’s Mortuary. The Rev. Henry Kerns will be officiating.
