Obituary
Sue Brindle Griffin died Friday March 9th 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Rutherford County daughter of the late Kenneth Brindle and the late Minnie Self Brindle. For 25 years she worked in textiles, owner of Sue’s Doo Dads, also Sue and her late husband of 53 years James Hampton Griffin owned and operated Griffin’s Grocery on North Washington St. in Rutherfordton, NC. Sue was also a devoted member of Village Chapel of Forest City. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son James Michael Griffin, one grandson Stacy Brian Griffin, three sisters Pauline Nodine, Cleo Freeman, Grace Green, two brothers Frank Brindle and Noah Brindle. She is survived by two daughters Judy Eudy of Kannapolis, NC and Wanda Lane of Rutherfordton, NC; six grandchildren – James Griffin Dean, Annie Carver, Audrey Lane, Amanda Roach, George Griffin and Kim Haynes. Fifteen great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews also survive. We would like to say thank you to a special niece Susie Lovelace for spending time with Aunt Sue, making her last day on earth more comfortable. Sue also leaves behind a number of special friends that became like family to her and her faithful companion of 14 years – her beloved dog Freckles. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday March 12, 2012 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills/Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Monday at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice P.O.
