Mary Frances Mayse, age 88, of Rutherfordton passed away Saturday May 16 at White Oak Manor. She was a native of Rutherford County, widow of Amos Mayse and daughter of the late Calvin Russ and Martha Crotts Carter. Frances was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judy Hicks of Ellenboro, son Roger Mayse of Forest City, brother Glenn Russ of Virginia; grandchildren Nikki (Tyler) Hall, Megan Mayse, James Roger (Ashley) Mayse and Ryan Mayse; great grandchildren Porter and Piper Hall and Anthony Mayse; sister in law Lillian Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday May 19 at Wilson Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
