Mrs. Mary “Mud” Spangler wife of the late Broadus Spangler passed away June 17th, 2015. Born November 20th 1924 she was a daughter of Willie and Edna Prince Barnette, a member of Southern Baptist Church and was retired from Doncaster. “Mud” was also preceded in death by her siblings William Earl Barnette, George Barnette, Louise Foster, Mayo Condrey, Jessie McEntire, Lucille Swain and Doris Peeler. She is survived by one sister Vernell McDowell and one brother Wayne Barnette. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends who loved her very much. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday June 20th, 2015 at Southern Baptist Church 140 Church Street Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Rev. John Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Concluding services will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southern Baptist Church Christian Life Center.
