Maurice Owens

Maurice Randall “Randy” Owens, 58 of Spindale, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. A private family memorial service was held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton. Pastor Jeff Queen from First Baptist Church of Spindale officiated. Randy was born in Rutherford County on March 24, 1959 to the late Jimmy Owens and Annette Owens Shehan. He graduated from RS Central High School and served in the US Navy. Randy worked in textiles and enjoyed spending all his free time with family and friends.Left to cherish his love and memory are his mother, Annette and two wonderful children, daughter, Tanya Henderson and her husband Brian; and son, Caleb Owens and their mother Barbara Duncan. He has two precious grandsons, Blaze and Gavin Henderson. Siblings include two sisters, Pat Dalton and her husband Scott of Rutherfordton; and Ann Walker and her husband Marshal of Forest City. Three Brothers, Mike Owens and his wife Rhonda of Forest City; Gene Owens of Rutherfordton; and Dean Shehan and his wife Sylvia of Ellenboro. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Randy is preceded in death by his fathers Jimmy Owens and Don Shehan and an infant son Kenneth Lee Owens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Grace of God Rescue Mission, PO Box 212, Forest City, NC 28043 or New Beginnings Soup Kitchen, 668 N Washington Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
