Mitchell Durwin Montieth Mitchell Durwin Montieth, 62, of Forest City, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Charles George VA Hospice in Asheville, NC. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Kenneth Ray and Marjorie Gettys Montieth. Mitchell was a retired ASE master mechanic and enjoyed flying airplanes. He is survived by his wife, Karen Jarrett Montieth of Rutherfordton, NC; daughter, Lauren Michelle Montieth of Alexandria, VA who was a recent graduate of Brown University; brothers, Wesley Steven Montieth of Carnegie, OK, Marcus Luke Montieth of Junction, TX, Gary Neal Montieth of Asheville, NC and Larry Montieth of Rutherfordton, NC; aunts Nettie Montieth of Forest City and Helen Womble of Rutherfordton. Graveside services will be held 2:30 Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Monty Montieth officiating. Online condolences may be made at crowemortuary.com.
