Naomi Ruth Roper Womack, age 78 of Hendersonville, died Thursday at Sunny Brook Assisted Living Center. A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Womack was born February 1, 1933 to Robert and Ethel Daggerhart Roper. She retired from Broughton Hospital as a Health Care Technician Supervisor. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Tony Womack and wife Karen of Flat Rock and Gary Womack and wife Jane of Cary; two daughters, Lynn Simpson and husband Glen of Trinity, NC and Althea Womack of Rutherfordton; one brother Jimmy Roper of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Faye Womack of Rutherfordton, Arrie Lee Adams of Rutherfordton, and Betty Lewis of Alva, FL; and eight grandchildren, Kelly Martin, Megan Keese, Jennifer Simpson, Laura Simpson, Joshua Fleming, Jacob Fleming, Katherine Womack, Mark Womack. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 Years, Al Phillips Womack. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27 at 2 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
