Nellie Warren West, 82, of Union Mills, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her home. A native of McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dora Hoilman Warren. She was a retired nurse. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Paul West of the home; sons, Steve Franklin of Marion, NC and Mark Franklin of Bakersville, NC; daughter, Judy Franklin Hall of Spruce Pine, NC; five grandchildren, Amanda Young, Trish Franklin, Stephanie Styles, Robert Dowdle, and the late Jason Dowdle; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Warren of Fuquay Varina, NC and Sonny Warren of Johnson City, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Jason Dowdle, one great granddaughter, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 3PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Billy Honeycutt officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
