Paul Vickers, 83, of Spindale, died Friday, February 28, 2020 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Nora Rumfelt Vickers and Crawford Vickers. Paul was a retired exterminator and a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Smith; daughters, Rita Bratton of Rutherfordton and Anita Vickers of Forest City; son, Gary Vickers of Rutherfordton; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Bumgarner of Rutherfordton and Rosa Adair of Forest City. In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Lynch Vickers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday March 2nd 2020 at Oak Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
