Pauline Self

Pauline Johnson Russell Self, 81, of Forest City, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Hospice House. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late John and Millie Melton Johnson. She was a member of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church and was a retired cafeteria worker for the Spartanburg County District 2 School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Russell, one son, and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, William Monroe Self of the home; daughter Paula Russell Camp of Lenoir City, TN; sisters Mittie Hutchins of Rutherfordton and Myrtle Miller; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8 at 3 PM at Crowe’s Chapel with Rev. Gary Binning officiating. Interment will follow in Byers Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
