Phillip Donald Head, age 72, of Rutherfordton, died Monday at Rutherford Hospital. A native of Rutherford County he was a former employee of Allied Die Casting, owner of Head’s TV Repair and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Head Pruett & her husband Ray of Rutherfordton, three grandchildren Sunni Pressley of Monroe, Philip Pruett of Shelby and Clint Pruett of Rutherfordton, three great grandchildren, one brother Isaac Head of Rutherfordton, two sisters Patricia Millwood and Barbara Bates both of Forest City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hoyle Head; two daughters Sondra Smart and Denise Head, parents Nolen & Virginia Nanney Head, one brother Daniel Head, two sisters Elizabeth Hanna and Jeanette Millwood. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29 at 12 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Huntley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary.
