Randy Rhodes age 56 received his ultimate healing and went home to Heaven on Sunday May 31, 2015. Randy was a very active member of Nealsville Church of God where he spent many years of his life working with the youth of the church and in service to others. He spent over 28 years working with Rutherford Life Services and Foothills Industries helping individuals with limitations achieve success in employment through his efforts in vocational rehabilitation. Randy loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time in the mountains riding his a.t.v. Randy was preceded in death by his first wife Glenda Laughter Rhodes and his father Wallace Rhodes as well as his grandparents. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Sonya Hawthorne Rhodes of the home, his mother Nellie Hardin Rhodes, children Lazarus and Crystal Margolin, Joey and Neenah Vaughn, Greg Vaughn, Amanda and Tommy Peacock, and Elliot Carter; his sisters Ramona (Wayne) Hall, Luwanna (Kay) Rhodes; his niece LaBreeska Hall, his God children Brian Rhodes, Travis Rhodes, Jasmine Godlock and Christian Godlock. Randy is also survived by eight grandchildren and a number of other friends and relatives.A celebration of Randy’s life will be held 1 PM Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Nealsville Church of God 27 Bethel Church Rd, Marion, NC 28752 with Rev. Doug Carpenter officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday June 2, 2015 at Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton, NC. Randy’s wish was that memorials be made to your local church youth group to encourage youth involvement in church.
