Raymond O'Dell

Mr. Raymond Kenneth O’Dell, Jr. age 61 passed away Sunday April 10, 2011 at Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Hyde Park, NY and was the son of the late Raymond Kenneth O’Dell, Sr. and Frances Margaret Cherry O’Dell. Raymond was a long haul truck driver and a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War.Left to cherish his memory are his wife Dixie Palmer O’Dell, three daughters – Colleen Couch, Franie Padgett and Dixie O’Dell; one son – Raymond O’Dell; one brother – Arthur O’Dell; one sister – Judy Gordon; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a number of other family members. A celebration of life will be held from 6 pm until 9 pm Friday April 15, 2011 at the O’Dell home 233 Whitesides Road Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Interment services will be held at the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC at a later date.
