Robert Lee Condrey, age 90, of Forest City went to be with the Lord Monday, July 16. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Edgar William and Bonnie Simmons Condrey. Robert was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a retired loom fixer and a security guard for AGI. Robert was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Jean Condrey McSwain of Rutherfordton and Carolyn Webb of Raleigh; three brothers, Johnny Condrey, Billy Condrey and Roger Condrey all of Shelby; two sisters Joyce Luckadoo of Ellenboro and Dianne Cloninger of Charlotte. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie C. Condrey; daughter Patsy Condrey; grandson Ronald McSwain; brothers Howard and Charles Ray Condrey; and sister Hazel McCluney.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Christopher Balltzglier officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Mortuary. Concluding services will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, formerly Sunset Memorial Park with military honors by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
