Robert Wayne Hargett , age 67, husband of Susan Guffey Hargett of Union Mills, died Wednesday August 24 at Hospice House. Wayne was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Joe Preston Hargett and Pearl Harris Hargett. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart in defense of his country. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his wife Susan he is survived by his children Connie Taylor of Forest City, Jeff Hargett of Union Mills and Jason Hargett of Kernersville; siblings Calvin and Ray Hargett of Granite Falls and Vivian Hoyle of Union MIlls and 6 Grandchildren. Services will be held 11 AM Friday at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
