Rev. Ron Boone Rev. Ronald Dean Boone, age 63, of Mooresboro, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Hazel Hudgins Boone and the late Johnny Twitty Boone. He was a graduate of RS Central High School, a US Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam and was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church as well as numerous other churches in Western North Carolina. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Bennett Boone of the home; sons Jeremy Boone and wife Kelly of Forest City and Joshua Boone of Boone; grandson Logan Boone of Forest City; mother Hazel Boone of Rutherfordton; brothers Norman Boone of Caroleen and Arlon Boone of Bostic. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lepera. Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, February 16 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brewer and Rev. Frank Hyder officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
