Rosie Lee Howell age 94, widow of the late Rev. Ernest Howell of Lake Lure, NC passed away on Friday April the 22nd at her home. She was the daughter of the late Jimmie M Batts and Mattie Lee Vick Batts. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Blackwell; sister Ohve Batts; sister Marie Evans; brother Hoyt Batts; Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Dell Garner (Pender) of Lake Lure, NC; daughter Ernestine Henderson (Bill) Chesnee, SC; son Jimmie Howell (Jane) Lake Lure, NC; daughter Ruth Dark of Greensboro, NC; daughter Susan Dortch (Donnie) of Franklin, KY; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren; A sister Betty Leffler of Colonia Heights VA; a brother Charlie Batts of Warrenton NC; special caregivers Dot Logan, Karen Hill, Natalya Sara Hendren. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00PM Sunday April 24, 2016 at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM. Burial will be in Bills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Gary Garner, Rev. Bill Henderson and Rev. Terrell Dillingham will be officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com.
