Rupert Haynes

Rupert Spencer Haynes, age 70 of 2555 Cove Rd. Rutherfordton; beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Wednesday at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Rupert was a native of Rutherford County, son of the late Allen and Inez Fowler Haynes, retired from Broyhill Furniture after 33 years of service, member of Piney Knob Baptist Church, an avid farmer and supporter of the farmers market. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Rachel Watkins Haynes; daughters Renee Luckadoo and husband Ronnie of Forest City, Annie Cooke and husband Kimble of Casar; grandchildren Austin and Ashley Luckadoo of Forest City, Morgan Cooke of Casar; brother Doug Haynes and wife Diane of Rutherfordton; aunt Vera Fowler of Rutherfordton, numerous friends and extended family. Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at Piney Knob Baptist Church. The Rev. Steven Cooper, Rev. Jack Crain, Rev. Rick Wall and Rev. Brent Frady will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Saturday prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
