Sara Ellen Lauver age 100 died on November 3, 2012. A native of York County, Sara was a homemaker, a member of Advent Lutheran Church and a member of Masonic Eastern Star for over 50 years. Sara was a resident of Restwell Nursing Home for three years where she was well cared for by the staff. Sara lived in Rutherfordton with her son A., Wayne Lauver and daughter in law Karen M. Lauver for 17 years. Sara was born on October 19, 1912 in Pennsylvania on a 25 acre farm near Bowmansdale, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of eight children born to John and Jennie Fishel. She was preceded in death by her first husband John F. Cocklin and her second husband Arthur J. Lauver and their infant daughter Phyllis. Her son James R. Cocklin died last year. She is also survived by his widow Sarah E. Cocklin and grandson Brian K. Cocklin. Also surviving are sons A. Wayne Lauver (wife Karen) and Barry L Lauver. She leaves behind grandchildren Adrienne Lauver Evans of Cary, NC Alan W. Lauver of Columbus, Ohio and Amanda M. Lauver of Rutherfordton, NC. Great grandchildren are Corina M. Keever of Spindale, NC and Orianne W. Lauver of Rutherfordton, NC. Sara is now at peace and her ashes will be returned to the family plot in Pennsylvania. No separate service is planned.
