Mr. Tommy J. Day age 66 of Carriage Place passed away Monday January 9, 2012 at Hospice House in Forest City, NC. A native of Rutherford County he was a son of the late Tom Hopper and Louella Day Hopper. He is survived by his wife Maxine Lewis Day of the home, two sons – Michael Day of Rutherfordton and Timmy Day of Spindale, one daughter Amie Day of Ellenboro, four sisters – Vickie Martin, Patsy Salmon, Cindy Hopper and Donna Wilson all of Rutherford County, two brothers – Jerry Byers of NC and Danny Hopper of Rutherford County as well as a number of grandchildren and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Rita Shaw. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Fellowship Holiness Church Spindale NC with Rev. Leon Brown, Rev. Roger Hudgins and Rev. Donald Dover officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Wednesday at Fellowship Holiness Church.
