William Mark “Billy” Swafford, age 51, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his home, while being cared for by Hospice. A native of Macon County, he was the son of James Swafford and Mary Jo Green Swafford. Billy was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked with his father as a car salesman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Gilda Hamrick of Rutherfordton, Billy was preceded in death by a brother, Raleigh Swafford. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, April 18 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. William Swink and Rev. Wesley Hudgins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 at the church. Concluding services will be held in the church cemetery.
