Mrs. Anna Serena Davis Howard
A smile for all, a heart of gold, one of the finest this world could hold.
Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories she leaves behind.
Anna Serena Davis Howard, beloved daughter of the late Willie and Emma Hamilton Davis, was born in Sumpter, South Carolina on September 6, 1946. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at her home in Statesville, North Carolina following an extended illness. She was married to Roy Howard, Jr., who preceded her in death and was once married to Alex Davis, Jr., who survives.
She was a graduated of Lincoln High School in Sumpter, South Carolina and attended college in New York. She was a caregiver working in private homes. She was a member of According to God’s Word Ministries in Troutman, North Carolina where Pastor Kay Presbury is the Pastor.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, one son, Alex Lorenzo (Adrian) Davis of Statesville; one daughter, A. Michelle Davis of the home; one brother, Raymayard Davis of Bronx, New York; six sisters, Geneva Thomas of Bronx, New York, Blondell Tillman of St. Bernadino, California, Beatrice (Harvy) Woods of Bronx, New York, Brenda Westpoint of Sumpter, South Carolina, Parthahelia (Carl) Carpenter of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Althia (Larry) Cate of Lumberton, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Jermaine ( ) Witt, Dana Peterson, Curtis Davis, Amiera Davis Lee and Nijeriah Ikard Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church families and dear friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, March 4, 2017, at The First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. .. Rev. J. W. Brunson is Pastor, Pastor Kaye Presbury will officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
