Obituary
Mr. Artis Freeman, Jr., 54, affectionately known as Bobby, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Iredell County October 8, 1957, and was the son of Bertha Parks Freeman and the late Artis Freeman, Sr.
He attended South Iredell High School and joined at a early age, Bibleway #6, Troutman. Bobby loved riding motorcycles , working on cars and collecting guns. He was twice married, first to Eyvonne Powell Freeman and second to Tauheedah Rasul Freeman, who survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Artis Lamont Freeman.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, two sons, Antonya (Tameka) Freeman of Troutman and Talib Artis Freeman of Statesville; two daughters, Yolanda (Cedric) Wilson and Tonya Freeman, both of Statesville; a god daughter, Mary Ann Chambers; two brothers, Calvin (Revallie) Freeman and Stevie (Debbie) Freeman both of Troutman; three sisters, Cora Lee Ramsey and Lisa Kay Freeman, both of Troutman, and Henretta Griffin of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Santavia Freeman, Artavia Daye, Danielle Freeman, Tamia Mayes, Kordell Reid, LaBria Freeman, Danaijaha Freeman; four great grandchildren, Saniyah Freeman, Demarcus Freeman, Sarenity Freeman, and Ivyana Mott; his mother in law, Islah Rasul of Statesville; a brother in law, Bilal Rasul of Trenton, N.J.; four sisters in law, Naimah (William) Turner of Queens, N.Y., Lutfiyyah Rasul of Trenton, N.J., Hanaa Rasul of Winston-Salem, and Nissa Rasul of Statesville; an uncle, Billy Parks of Statesville; four aunts, Margaret Burch of Cincinnati, Oh, Linda Ikard of Troutman, Linda Bailey of Statesville Linda Rogers of Trenton, N.J.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
